WE037 - All what you wanted to know about Chaozhou
Product detailed description
😍 | Time for tea! This time, we will explore the tea pottery of Chaozhou (潮州) in Guangdong Province (广东省). Although pottery has been produced in the Chaozhou region since the Ming Dynasty (1368–1644), its reputation grew primarily during modern Chinese history (1949–present) alongside the rising popularity of oolong teas (Wulongcha 乌龙茶). International recognition was gained not only by its distinctive handmade teapots, but also by the unique Chaozhou style of tea preparation, which emphasizes intensive tea extraction and an expressive brewing technique regardless of the quality of the tea material. How are Chaozhou teapots made? How do they differ from other types of Chinese clay? And how does Chaozhou pottery influence the flavor, aroma and overall character of tea?
🌱 | During this tea event, we will taste 4 different teas from several producers to better understand the diversity of tea-making approaches and their influence on the final cup. Both the program and the tea selection is rich, and we're sure you will love it! The event standartly takes 60 minutes, yet, the duration can be extended or shorten upon the negotiation.
🙏| The entrance fee is 500,- CZK. The maximum number of participants is 6 tea lovers. Please book your seat in advance and make sure to eat beforehand so you can fully enjoy the authentic tea experience.
