WE008 - Tea pairing: food & snacks

| Time for tea! This time, we will look at tea gastronomy and various approaches to pairing the tea with various dishes. Special attention will be paid to the history of song dynasty tea snacks (Chadian Xiaochi 茶点小吃), typology of signature tribal dishes (meat, fruit, vegetable and others) and other gastronomical aspects connected with the local tea culture, which you may encounter in Xishuangbanna.

| What teas and in what kind of form are the local teas served in restaurants? Why sheng puer teas will make you more hungry compared to other types of teas? What are the most common tea snacks in local tea venues? Is it ok to pair cheese and various meats with tea similarly like in terms of wine? How about the tea lemonades and cold tea? What are the differences between traditional and modern style of tea houses? Which teas are better to offer in winter and summer? What teas are better to serve tea beginners? And which teas may be more popular among tea experts? How about the taste sensitiveness to the tea? And are there any similarities with European wine culture?

🍵 | During the session we will taste four teas from Xishuangbanna and share exclusive content from our recent research trip to Xishuangbanna, including unique photographs and videos from the region.

🙏| The entrance fee for the event is 1500,- CZK. The maximum number of participants is 6 tea lovers. The event will take place with a minimum of 3 tea lovers (500,- CZK per each participant) or upon negotiation. Please book your seat in advance and make sure to eat beforehand so you can fully enjoy the authentic tea experience.
