WE006 - Tea geography: small & big Banna

| Time for tea! This time, we will look at tea geography and elaborate the mapping of tea regions in Xishuangbanna. Special attention will be paid to the historical evolution of Xishuangbanna (Nanzhao, Mengbalanaxi, Mengle, Sipsongpanna a Xishuangbanna), terminology of tea regions (counties and moountains vs. townships and villages) and other aspects regarding the tea region recordings.

| Since when we are talking about the Six Ancient Tea Mountains (Guliudachashan 古六大茶山) and what is Mansa (曼撒)? What places in the Southeast Asia used to be part of Xishuangbanna? Why Laobanzhang and many other famous tea villages are often not on the historical maps? Why there are so many similar names for the tea villages? How to track down the actual tea source and how many families live in Laobanzhang village? What are the differences between Menghai, Mengla and Jinghong City? Why the boundaries between tea mountains are so unclear? And how about the new tea mountains?

🍵 | During the session we will taste four Yunnan red teas and share exclusive content from our recent research trip to Xishuangbanna, including unique photographs and videos from the region.

🙏| The entrance fee for the event is 1500,- CZK. The maximum number of participants is 6 tea lovers. The event will take place with a minimum of 3 tea lovers (500,- CZK per each participant) or upon negotiation. Please book your seat in advance and make sure to eat beforehand so you can fully enjoy the authentic tea experience.
