TE050 - Luxury teas: priceless & misunderstood teas? (5.9. 2026)

😍| New tea samples from Xishuangbanna finally arrived! This is also the 50th anniversary tea event, which we organizing this year. To commemorate it, we will explore what is the perception of the luxury teas and why so many teas are priceless. Although most tealovers consider luxury teas as something expensive an d unique, luxury teas more often provides a valuable insight into depth and scope of your daily tea experience beyond your imagination. 

🏆| What are the most common stereotypes about luxury teas? Can any tealovers appreciate luxury teas? What is the tipping point between tea experience and price? What aspects influence the price and value of the tea? Why so many vendors sell aged teas as a luxury teas in Europe? Where the most expensive teas in Xishuangbanna coming from? And is faking or immitating these teas only driven by artificially increasing the price of the tea?

🌱 | During this tea event, we will taste 4 different teas (baicha, shengcha, shucha) from Xu Yongwei, the owner of the Yibang Tea Manor to better understand the luxury teas and refute common misconceptions about them. The event is sponsored by the Czech-Xishuangbanna Tea Association (CZEXITEAS), which provided generous subsidy for organizing this event. Thanks to that, we will be able to taste several teas, whose total value osccillates between 300 to 5000 CZK per portion (8 g). The event will be accompanied by our own audio-visual materials, including many recordings, which we did not share yet. We believe, you will fall in love into this type of tea exploration!
