| Autumn is finally here, which is a perfect time for exploring Xishuangbanna Tea Culture! This time, we will dive into Menghai Shaihong (勐海晒红), a sun-dried Yunnan red tea from Menghai County (勐海县).
| Last month (10.8. 2025), we were testing our new arrival from Six Ancient Tea Mountains (Guliudachashan 古六大茶山) produced during the 1st Spring harvest in 2025. While the Yunnan red tea (yunnanhongcha 云南红茶 or Dianhong 滇红) was developed by the Shunning Experimental Tea Factory (顺宁实验茶厂), today's Fengqing County (凤庆县) in Lincang Prefecture, the Yunnan Shaihong (云南晒红) widely appears since early 2000s during the privatization of the state-owned tea factories in Yunnan Province.
| How does Yunnan red tea from Menghai County taste? How it is different from Six Ancient Tea Mountains? And what is so special on Yunnan shaihong teas? During the event, we will taste four Yunnan Shaihong teas (Nannuo, Mengsong, Bada and Manzhuan) and compare the common traits as well as differences among them.
