Product detailed description

🍵| Summer is finally here, which is a perfect time for exploring Xishuangbanna Tea Culture! This time, we would like to talk about tribal teas, a special type of hand-made teas braided, tied or compressed into various natural materials such as bamboo tubes, rattan stripes, yuta ropes and other root fibers.

🫖| Traditionally, these teas are collected by elders from giant (Tedayezhong 特大叶种) or large-broad tea leaves (Dayezhong大叶种) of Camellia Sinensis var. Assamica by local tribes in Menghai County (勐腊县). While most common are the hand-compressed teas into sweet-fragrant bamboo tubes (Zhutongcha 竹筒茶), there can be also found braided tea in the shape of snail (bianzicha 辫子茶) or broom tea with long stems in the shape of little tea tree (saobacha (扫把茶).

🎎| What is so special on tribal teas in Menghai County? How they taste? What are the current challenges of making them? During the presentation, we will compare four tribal teas from two new tea mountains (Bulang and Nannuo) and discuss other tribal-based teas in Xishuangbanna.

🙏| The entrance fee is voluntary. The event includes a bilingual presentation (EN/CZ) and tasting four tribal teas from Menghai County. The number of seats is limited. Please, book your seat in advance. Thank you for your attention and we are looking to sharing tea with you at our Tea Chamber!
