🍵| Summer is finally here, which is a perfect time for exploring Xishuangbanna Tea Culture! This time, we would like to talk about yesheng yabao (野生芽孢), type of Yunnan white tea made from wild tea buds. While there can be found numerous types of yabao within Yunnan Province (云南省), we will compare recent harvests (2023-2025) from several villages located in Bada Tea Mountain (巴达山).
🫖| Traditionally, the yabao is harvest in early Spring (December-January) and presents one of very delicate teas with a pleasant cooling effect. Apart from a rich palette of flavours (from intense tropical flowers and various fruits to vegetable and spicy tones) and strong vitality (> 15 infusions), these teas are sometimes reffered as "ladies teas" (Nurencha 女人茶) due to its distinctive fragrance and pronounced sweeteness.
🎎| What is so special on yabao teas from Bada Tea Mountain? What is the difference between loose and compressed yabao? And how good is this year's harvest? During the presentation, we will compare four yabao teas from three villages (Manwa, Hesong, Zhanglang) at Bada Tea Mountain and discuss the growing popularity of these teas.
