Product detailed description
Discover the grace of traditional Chinese craftsmanship with this handcrafted porcelain teacup from Jingdezhen, an ancient city with over 1,000 years old history of making teaware in Jiangxi Province (江西). This teacup features an elegant hand-painted high mountain landscape in deep cobalt blue colors (qinghua 青花). Thanks to the high-firing, the teacup glaze has a several cracks that gives each cup its own character and subtle vintage texture. This glazed tea cup is suitable for preparing all types of tea. The painting is underglazed. The seal contains the text "Made in Jingdezhen" (景德镇制).
During our work trip to Xishuangbanna at the beginning of 2025, we spent quite a lot of time tasting, testing and consulting the impact of various factors on tea taste. Apart from famous and widely recognized ceramic teawares (e.g. Yixing, Jianshui, Nixing...), we also compared various materials (glasses, porcelains, metals, clays...) to better understand the nuances in the tea taste profile. As a result, we brought some Jingdezhen tea porcelain, which will help you to better recognize various flavour layers in between the infusions and provide more accurate insight on your new teas during the tea tasting.
Disclaimer
Jingdezhen porcelain is much more beautiful in reality than in photos. :)
