| After your positive feedback from our recent Menghai Tea Factory event (11.4. 2025), we decided to introduce third type of events (Experience), which will be focus on more systemic tea evaluation of specific teas within twelve tea mountains in Xishuangbanna.
| This time, we will taste Aged puer teas (laoshucha 老熟茶), a highly demanded ripe teas using the controlled fermentation technique (wo dui 渥堆) since 1975 to provide similar taste like aged sheng puers (shengcha 生茶). Unlike most of the shu puers from Menghai Region (勐海) with more earthy, woody and honey taste, many of these teas also provide wide variety of layers from fruits, nuts, spices and sweet creams to thick molasses and other fascinating flavours beyond traditional taste spectrum.
| To better distinguish little nuances among Xishuangbanna shucha and adress differences among different villages, producers, years of harvest and physical forms, we will taste five shu puers and jointly write detailed notes from our "Tastemaster Card" (ver. 2.21), a list of aspects and other factors describing fragrance, color, body, taste, aftertaste of tea similar to those, which are used at At National Vocational Certification Level (国家职业资格证书) in terms of tea evaluation and criticism.
| How does tea aged shu puers from Xishuangbanna taste? And how are they different from Mangzhi gushu shucha 2020 from Wangjia, which we visited in Spring 2025? During the event, we will solely focus on sharing our insights on Xishuangbanna aged shucha teas and finding the common traits as well as differences, which make Xishuangbanna shu puers so unique.
| The entrance fee is 500,- CZK. The entrance fee includes a bilingual presentation (EN/CZ) with printed "Tastemaster Card" and Banzhang tea tasting. The number of seats is limited.
