| After a month-long work trip in Xishuangbanna in Spring 2025, we want to share another piece of Xishuangbanna tea culture!
| This time, we would like to talk about Jinuoshan (基诺山), a village at Youle Tea Mountain (攸乐) where Shanshan was born and where we got married in December 2021 during the COVID-19.
| To date, the Jinuo tribe (基诺族) is one of the last officially recognized ethnic group in China (56th, 6th June 1979), which has around 30.000 people living in Xishuangbanna. Yet, despite many efforts in raising the awareness about Jinuo culture and improving livelihood of the local people, the Youle teas are virtually unknown and most limited among Six Ancient Tea Mountains (Guliudachashan 古六大茶山).
| What is so special on Youle Tea Mountain? How does tea from Youle taste? And what are the current challenges for Jinuo people in the future? During the presentation, will look at history of Youle Tea Mountain and Jinuo people, and discuss the reasons of declining tea market in Youle Moutain before and after COVID-19. Additionally, we will show you our wedding and clarify the challenges for international marriages.
| The entrance fee is voluntary. During the activity, we will drink several Youle teas and share our photos and videos, some of which were never shared before. The number of seats is limited.
